From small beginnings

A lasting local club

Rovers started because local people believed Doncaster needed a soccer club. Since then, the club has seen strong seasons, proud honours, hard working volunteers and generations of players who have called Rovers home. That history gives the club its foundation.

Our purpose

What the club sets out to do

Doncaster Rovers Soccer Club’s primary objective is to create a safe, supportive and fun-filled learning environment that fosters the development of football skills, and where each participant strengthens their love of the game. The club’s endeavours are to challenge, inspire and motivate children of all ages and gender to engage with the core skills of football, and to help all our young players realise their sporting potential in an enjoyable atmosphere.

We advocate the need to understand and advance the maturity of young players through age-appropriate curricula designed to ensure all children receive a high level of coaching in the technical, tactical, physical, social and psychological dimensions of football.

We strive to create opportunities that allow the natural creativity and individual flair of our young players to flourish, alongside an understanding of the importance of teamwork, spirit and fair play.

We are committed to engaging with the local community to raise the game’s profile, and to providing structured programs that accommodate young people regardless of gender, cultural background and physical or mental ability.

Tradition

Club song

It’s a grand old team to play for,
It’s a grand old team to be,
And if, you know, your history,
It’s enough to make your heart go oh-oh-oh,
We don’t care what the other team says,
No, we really don’t care,
For we only know, if there’s gonna be a show,
Then the Doncaster Rovers will be there…
