Bendigo Bank named Business Bank of the Year for the third time
Friday 21 February 2014: Bendigo Bank has been named Business Bank of the Year (2013) at Roy Morgan Research’s Customer Satisfaction Awards.
This marks the third consecutive year the Bank has received the accolade, after being judged best in business at the inaugural awards in 2011 and again in 2012.
Doncaster East Senior Branch Manager Paul Thompson said the award was recognition of the significant investment the Bank had made in the business space throughout 2013.
“Over the past 12 months we have invested heavily in staff training, and looked at innovative ways to engage with our business network,” Paul said.
“We continue to strive to improve our business offering, so we can retain the wonderful support of our loyal customers.”
Paul said the Bank had also been busy investigating opportunities in the digital space, opening up new ways of doing business for both the Bank and its customers.
“We know we must remain nimble and evolve to meet the changing needs of our business customers,” he said.
Bendigo Bank’s Business Banking team is made up of 300 dedicated staff located across Australia, providing specialist advice and a wide range of services including cash flow solutions, interest rate risk management, agribusiness, merchant facilities, insurance and other business solutions.
“We know businesses want advice tailored to their individual needs, not just another generic service,” Paul said.
“Our team works hard to ensure that for businesses, big and small, banking with Bendigo Bank is easy.”

Selection of Junior Squads
Dear current and prospective members of Doncaster Rovers Soccer Club,
The Club has been receiving numerous enquiries regarding the timeline and structure for all squads selected after the last set of trials organized by the club last week.
As a point of clarification I need to emphasize that the process for selecting squads representing the club at various gradings within a particular age group is to place players at a level where they are going to be competitive, to be challenged as well as playing against other teams of approximately the same technical ability. The club firmly believes in providing players with maximum opportunities to develop their skills and personal growth in the sport. Placing a player in an A, B or C grading does not mean that the player has been labelled with that grading. It simply means that, his/her playing development is at that level at that particular time of assessment.
We all know that this process of selection can never be 100% accurate and therefore there will be opportunities for players to challenge themselves to move to the higher level at the coaches' discretion in the first two to three weeks of competition. For the same token it is possible that some players can be moved down to a lower grading if the coaches' believe it's in the player's best interest.
In the next two to three days the coaches will be working together to make their recommendations and subsequent squads' selections.
I ask players and parents to be patient as the announcement of coaches' appointments and squads will be published by Thursday of next week at the latest. Pre-season training schedule and venues will be provided as well.
Thank you for your understanding and patience! The Board is doing everything possible and investing much time to ensure that all players enjoy a successful 2014 season.
Junior competitions will officially begin on the 26th of April
SSF - MiniRoos Co-ordinator
The FFV has recently announced that the Optus Small Sided Football Competition has been rebranded with a new title "MiniRoos". The competition will cater for players in the 4 - 11 year old group. In line with this announcement Doncaster Rovers is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Taylor as the club's MiniRoos Co-ordinator.
Originally from the UK, Robert has been playing Football for most of his life. He signed his first senior contract with Westbury at the age of 15, where he still holds the record for being the youngest player to represent and score in the FA Cup. He was later asked to join and then got accepted into the Forest Green Rovers Academy where he trained & played professionally, full time for 2 years.
He came to Australia late 2010 where I trialled for and then played State 1 with Southern Stars and State 2 with Eastern Lions, winning the respective League titles both years. During the off season he played in a Bayside Futsal Competition, which resulted in me receiving the MVP Award for the entire League, and the Golden Boot Award scoring 29 goals in 8 games.
Robert's philosophy is to provide coaches with different drills to train kids in a fun, interesting way, keeping the players involved and getting the most out of their training to ensure they keep coming back and continuing to love the game they play.
While in the UK, Robert worked and studied hard to achieve his UEFA B Coaching Licence. He is passionate about coaching and developing junior footballers . It's not about winning and losing, it's about development and enjoyment.....it's about bringing out the best in every player.
